How to Create and Manage Departments
Departments let you organize a larger team into groups—like Kitchen and Front of House—each with its own managers (who oversee the group) and members. Once you create departments, the rest of the app can be organized around them. You set them up from Account Settings, so you’ll need to be an Owner or Admin.
Step 1: Open the More tab
Open the ShiftFlow app and tap More in the bottom navigation bar.
Step 2: Open Account Settings
On the More screen, tap Account Settings under Business Operations.
Step 3: Open Departments
In Account Settings, tap Departments.

Delete Department?
The department will be deleted and cannot be recovered.
Notes
- Managers vs. members: managers oversee the department; members are everyone else assigned to it. A team member can be added to a department as either.
- Members without departments: the Departments screen shows how many team members aren’t assigned yet, with a link to view them—handy for making sure no one is missed.
- Deleting is permanent, but safe for people: deleting a department can’t be undone, but it only removes the grouping. The team members themselves stay on your team and simply become unassigned.
