App Store Editorial
Hi, App Store editorial team,
I'm Eddy Yang, an independent developer running a small team of three, and the founder of ShiftFlow.
ShiftFlow is a workforce app for the small businesses who keep the world running. We built it mobile-first because that's where their work happens: at the front desk, on a job site, in the bakery at 4:30 a.m.
Who's using it
More than two thousand small business owners have left reviews on the App Store, the vast majority of them positive. They run plumbing outfits, construction crews, cleaning companies, and the long tail of trades and field services that make up most of the small business economy. For these operators, mobile workforce software has historically lagged the consumer apps in their pockets. The apps they reach for to plan a vacation or split a dinner check don't have a real counterpart for running a business. Closing that gap is the work.
A few of them, at it:
A boutique short-term rental company in Coachella Valley cut their Friday payroll from two and a half hours to thirty minutes after years on paper, then used the time savings to double their daily property turnovers without hiring. A funeral transport operator in Mobile, Alabama finally pays his on-call drivers a flat rate per dispatch, with time caps so a long run never breaks his margins. A yacht maintenance crew working across multiple marinas standardized GPS-verified clock-ins per vessel and gave their owners and insurance the documentation they always wanted. A family-run bakery with two storefronts in Texas keeps both kitchens staffed and payroll clean even though one of them opens at 4:30 a.m.
The shape of the work is different every time. The relief operators describe sounds the same.
How we ship
Underneath all of that is a habit of building. Since January 2024 we've shipped roughly every two to three weeks, with no quiet quarter. We started by closing the trust gap with opt-in GPS and selfie clock-ins, then built the operator's toolkit: job codes, geofence radius, customizable PDF exports. From there we grew into full workforce: Kiosk Mode for shared devices, Schedule & Publish, Premium Pay differentials for nights and weekends, Team Pulse swim lanes for live presence. We added profit margins to every job code, a tactile retro Punch Card that exists because it makes people smile, and most recently the Request Center, a single home for time off, corrections, and shift releases.
We listen to the customers. We evolve. We rapidly experiment. The full changelog →
Where it runs
Most ShiftFlow users today are English speakers. We've still localized into 38 languages, because the small businesses outside the English-speaking world deserve the same calm, well-built workforce app their American peers use. Adoption in those non-English markets is climbing month over month.
