How to Claim or Release a Scheduled Shift
ShiftFlow lets team members send schedule change requests without editing the schedule directly. Open My Schedule, choose the shift from list view or calendar view, then use the request action on the shift details page.
Step 1: Open My Schedule in list view
From the home screen, open My Schedule. List view shows upcoming shifts as rows. Tap the assigned shift you want to manage.
Step 2: Or use calendar view
Tap the calendar button to switch views. Calendar view shows which dates have scheduled shifts. Tap a day with a shift, then open the shift entry for that date.
Step 3: Use the shift details action
When the schedule details page opens, tap Release Shift if the shift is already assigned to you. If the same details page shows an open shift instead, use Claim Shift from this screen.
Step 4: Wait for manager review
Managers review claim and release requests from the schedule request list and either approve or reject them.
Notes
- Claim and release requests only affect the schedule after a manager reviews them.
- Only published shifts can be claimed or released.
- You will see the shift update after the request is approved.
