How to Use Live Activities During a Shift

On supported iPhones and iOS versions, ShiftFlow can show an active Shift or break as a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island.

Start the Shift normally

Clock in from ShiftFlow and complete required Job Code, Cost Code, location, or photo steps.

The Live Activity reflects the active server-backed Shift. It does not create a separate Shift.

Read the Live Activity

The display can show the current work state, elapsed time, Job Code context, or break countdown according to the active state and device support.

Lock Screen and Dynamic Island update while a shift is active.

Open ShiftFlow before performing a time-clock action. A Lock Screen timer can be delayed by connectivity and should not be treated as proof that Clock Out succeeded.

If it does not appear

  1. Confirm Live Activities are allowed for ShiftFlow in iOS Settings.
  2. Confirm the iPhone and ShiftFlow versions support the feature.
  3. Make sure a Shift or break is active in the app.
  4. Reconnect to the network and reopen ShiftFlow.
  5. Check Low Power Mode and system notification restrictions.

Turn Live Activities off

Disable Live Activities for ShiftFlow in iOS Settings. This hides the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island surface but does not clock you out or stop ShiftFlow from recording an already active Shift.
