How ShiftFlow Notifications Work
ShiftFlow uses device notifications for work updates such as schedule changes, Time Off decisions, time-clock events, requests, and Team Chat messages.
Allow notifications
When ShiftFlow explains notification access, tap Allow Notifications, then approve the operating-system prompt.
Notifications
Get schedule, time off, time clock, and chat notifications.
Selecting Not Now or denying the system prompt prevents some alerts until permission is restored in device settings.
Open a notification
Tapping a supported notification opens ShiftFlow and attempts to navigate to the related account and record.
Time Off Request
Your Jul 24–26 request was approved.
Sign in and confirm the active account. The destination may no longer be available if the record was deleted, the request was already handled, or your account access changed.
Common notification sources
- Published schedules and later schedule changes.
- Time Off and Time Correction request updates.
- Clock reminders or account time-clock events.
- Claim and Release request activity.
- Team Chat direct and group messages.
Exact alerts depend on role, account settings, event support, and platform.
Multiple accounts
Notification registration follows the signed-in user and active account context. After switching accounts, allow the app to refresh before relying on new alerts. Tapping an alert from another account may require switching context.
Chat notification controls
Muting a group suppresses that conversation’s alerts without disabling all ShiftFlow notifications. Device Focus modes and system notification settings can also silence Chat.
For missing alerts, see How to Troubleshoot Missing Notifications.
