How to Troubleshoot Missing Notifications

First identify one missing event: what happened, which account created it, who should receive it, and when. Not every account event sends every role a notification.

Step 1: Check ShiftFlow permission

If ShiftFlow still shows its permission request, tap Allow Notifications and approve the operating-system prompt.

Notifications

Stay up to date

Get schedule, time off, time clock, and chat notifications.

Not Now

If permission was denied earlier, enable notifications for ShiftFlow in iOS Settings or Android App Info.

Step 2: Check system delivery settings

Confirm alerts are allowed on the Lock Screen or notification center. Review Focus or Do Not Disturb, notification summaries, silent channels, per-app sound settings, and battery restrictions.

Step 3: Check the event and role

Confirm the schedule was published, the request status actually changed, or the Chat message was sent. Verify the recipient still belongs to the account and has the role or membership required for that alert.

Step 4: Check Chat mute

A muted group can suppress its message alerts while other ShiftFlow notifications still work. Open Group Info and unmute the conversation when alerts are needed.

Step 5: Check the active account

After switching accounts, open ShiftFlow and let account data refresh. Sign out and back in only after any Offline Mode data has synced.

Step 6: Refresh the device registration

Reconnect to the network, update ShiftFlow, restart the device, and open the app. This lets the app refresh its notification registration.

Before contacting support

Include the account, recipient, event type, event time and time zone, device, OS, app version, permission state, and whether other ShiftFlow alerts work. Do not send a password or private message content that is unrelated to the issue.

For expected notification behavior, see How ShiftFlow Notifications Work.
