How to Create a New Business Account
Create a new business account when you will manage a team and invite team members. Joining an existing business uses an invite code and does not create another account.
Step 1: Start onboarding
From the Welcome screen, tap Get Started, then choose Set Up a Business Account.

What do you use ShiftFlow for?
Managers & Business Owners
I manage a team, and will invite team members.
Team Members
I work in a team and have an invite code from my manager.
Personal Use
I work alone. Ideal for freelancers, nannies, part-timers, and the self-employed. Personal use only, no team members.
Step 2: Enter personal and business information
Enter your profile name and optional photo, then provide the business name, logo, and requested business details. The creator becomes the account Owner.
Business Info
Review spelling because the business name appears throughout ShiftFlow and in invitations.
Step 3: Choose the workweek start
Select the day that starts the business workweek. Overtime and weekly reporting can depend on this boundary.
Week Start
Step 4: Configure the Pay Period
Choose Weekly, Bi-Weekly, Semi-Monthly, or Monthly and enter the required start dates.
Pay Period
Set a weekly schedule
Choose the weekly cadence to keep payouts aligned with your team’s regular work week.
Set the start day to match payroll expectations so time tracking and exports stay in sync.
Pay Period
Update work week start day in Account Settings → Week Start
Set a bi-weekly schedule
Pick the weekday anchor so the two-week cadence stays aligned with payroll.
This mock highlights a cycle that starts every other Monday, with OCT 13, 2025 selected to show the current pay period on the calendar.
Pay Period
Set a semi-monthly schedule
Use the semi-monthly cadence to split timesheets across two anchor dates every month so payroll exports stay predictable.
Choose the first start day then confirm the second start day.
Pay Period
Pay Period
Set a monthly schedule
Select the monthly cadence when your business runs payroll once per month and only needs a single cutoff date.
Pay Period
Use the real payroll cadence. Paid status and Pay Period reports rely on this configuration.
Step 5: Choose time-clock validation
Configure the initial GPS location and Clock In Photo choices. Device permissions are still requested from each device when the feature is used. You can refine Work Sites, radius, and mandatory settings later.
Step 6: Enable extra shift fields
Choose whether the account needs Tip, Bonus, or Mileage. These fields can be changed later under Account Settings.
Step 7: Create the account and review defaults
Submit the final step and wait for account creation. Review the business name, time zone, currency, workweek, Pay Period, location policy, break rules, and overtime settings before inviting the team.
