How to Create, Edit, and Delete a Shift
This guide covers actual worked shifts that appear in Timesheets. A Scheduled Shift is planned work managed in Team Scheduler; creating a regular shift records time that can affect hours and payroll immediately.
Managers can create and edit shifts for their team. Team members can create shifts only when Allow Team Members to Create Shifts is enabled, and their edits to completed shifts may require Manager approval.
Create a shift
Step 1: Open Timesheets and tap Add
Open Timesheets, select the appropriate date range, then tap the add button.

Step 3: Add optional details
Add only details that belong to this shift:
- Breaks with paid or unpaid treatment and start/end times.
- Job Codes and Cost Codes for job reporting.
- Work Site when the shift belongs to a location.
- Notes and Expenses for supporting context.
- Flat Rate Pay, Tip, Bonus, or Mileage when those account options are enabled.
Create Shift
Tap Save, then confirm the shift appears in the correct team member’s timesheet.

Edit a shift
Open the team member’s timesheet, tap the shift, then tap Edit. Correct the date, times, breaks, jobs, location, pay details, expenses, or notes and save.
Shift Details
If a changed boundary would place an existing break or Job Code entry outside the shift, ShiftFlow asks how to resolve the conflict. Review the recalculated regular, overtime, paid-break, and unpaid-break hours afterward. Detailed break steps are in How to Edit Shift Time and Breaks.
Delete a shift
Open Shift Details, tap Delete Shift, and review the warning.
Shift Details
Confirm Delete only when the entire shift is invalid. The time is removed from the timesheet and cannot be recovered.
